Tri-Level Mid-Century in University Park

Tucked away near the top of University Park in Denver is a beautiful little gem of a tri-level mid-century home designed originally by the Architect Robert Hiester in 1959. Most of the original features still remain - this was true post and beam, with a perfect unadulterated brick exterior, and large steel windows with a balcony facing the mountains. Our clients tracked down and met with the original owners of the home and shared photos and the original architectural plans - how cool is that?! See historical photos below. This house is, for sure, already the most compelling house on the block, and with a few additional moves, this house will be amazing. The home sits on a hill so the rooms on the lowest level are “walk-outs”, allowing that level to benefit from natural light and ventilation. The main level really only provides enough space for a kitchen, dining space, and living area. The client's goal is to add a second story to the existing garage to create an oasis for a nice sized master suite. The desire is to mimic roof lines, materials, and windows of the original house, to create a seamless addition. The clients have great taste and a desire to maintain the unique features that the home already possesses. We are really looking forward to this project moving forward!
