The Jade House
Super stoked for this new build in Golden, CO! Situated on a sloped, triangular lot, with an extensive program for a blended family of six (plus four dogs and a cat!), and with a new capped square footage from the municipality we have our work cut out for us. The goal is to design a modern home that fits in scale with the single-story surrounding homes and provides all the necessary spaces for multi-age family members, dedicated work-at-home offices, and plenty of entertaining spaces.
The views of the foothills are out to the back, so lots of outdoor lounging, pool time, and play areas are in the works. The house will feature energy-efficient strategies, including electrification, lots of protected glass to take in the views, original brick salvaged from the pre-existing home, and the warmth of wood for floors and main living area ceilings.
We went through many iterations for floor plans and roof configurations to take advantage of the views while also providing an optimal orientation for a solar PV array. Here are some initial sketches, floor plans, and renderings. Landscape design is in the works by Evoke and we are happy to be working with Build3 again!
