Maria Empanada at The Stanley Marketplace

Construction has been wrapped up and Maria Empanada is finally open!  This is the third location for the great Argentinian bakery Maria Empanada, located in one of Denver's newest "food-centric community-inspired marketplaces" - The Stanley Marketplace (at the east edge of Stapleton). This industrial warehouse was formerly used as a factory for fabricating airplane ejection seats, and now is home to almost 50 locally-owned restaurants, coffee shops, speciality stores, boutiques, gyms, salons, and much more. The small space for Maria Empanada will offer all their special sweet and savory treats. There is plentiful seating inside and around the building to enjoy your empanadas! It's a super exciting location that you have to check out!

The industrial feel of the space has been warmed up with an architectural wood screen element up above and a Spanish influenced decorative stencil at the counter level and floor. The extra large sun mural, depicting the Argentina symbol on the flag, artfully fills up the wall as you approach the space from the south and north entrance halls.

For this project we were thrilled to have the talented Chris Gebhart back to collaborate on the project (www.gebhartstudio.com). We also were happy to work with Foothills Commercial Builders again.  The custom wood "rib" ceiling element & shelving were completed by Dustin and his crew at Growthring Innovations.
